Renovation of a municipal facility in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Replace building fire alarm panel (installed in 2004). The building includes an Edwards class B addressable fire alarm system. The main fire alarm panel is an Edwards EST2 32 zone panel located in the main electrical room in the basement. There have been frequent false alarms. All devices must be assessed and ULC certification by a qualified contractor is required. Devices are to be replaced/repaired, if required for ULC certification. Assess the system to ensure it is code compliant (NBCC, NFCC, NFPA, Provincial Codes, etc). This includes, but is not limited to, verifying decibel readings, ensuring washrooms include required bells/alarms/strobes, any annunciator requirements, supply fan shutdowns, elevator recall, proper dial out capabilities, etc.
