As of March 22, 2023, per the owner, this project has been pushed outside their five year capital improvement plan. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Watson Road is classified as one of the City of Buckeye's Major Arterial streets in the future street network. The purpose of Major Arterial streets is to serve vehicle mobility and provide safe movement of pedestrians, bicycles, freight and transit. Currently, Miller Road (two miles west of Watson Road) and Verrado Way (three miles east of Watson Road) are the closest north-south roadways providing a continuous route from I-10 to MC 85. Extending Watson Road between MC 85 and Southern Avenue will enhance mobility and provide an additional route for local and regional commuters. The Buckeye in Motion Transportation Master Plan identifies Watson Road as a Major Arterial street and recommended the extension of Watson Road from Southern Avenue to MC-85. Watson Road runs north/south and is currently discontinuous between MC 85 to Southern Avenue. The purpose of Buckeye Project 103010 is to improve the continuity of Watson Road from MC 85 to Southern Avenue. ADOT is currently in the process of designing enhancements to the Watson Road and I-10 TI.
