Renovation of a water / sewer project in Skokie, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Tenders are invited for the work consisting of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment required to: 1. Remove parapet wall and existing masonry and limestone as necessary to expose the structural steel embedded in the mass masonry walls. Clean existing steel, reinforce existing steel, prime and paint steel, and install new flashing. 2. Re-install stonework and install new masonry to close wall openings and to re-build the parapet walls. Install reinforcing steel to brace parapets. 3. Remove the existing roofing and insulation in its entirety and replace with new roofing. Perform localized removal and replacement of structural roof deck consisting of pyrobar planks. 4. Install roofing and miscellaneouslocalized waterproofing and other repairs associated with the roofing replacement per Plans and Specifications. 5. Where specified, perform masonry and waterproofing repairs including localized tuck-pointing, installation of new flashings, sealing of wall penetrations (windows/doors) and joint replacement. 6. Where specified, perform miscellaneous facade repairsincluding masonry wall crack repairs, replacement of damaged limestone and brick, and painting of exterior window frames and doors, repair or replacement of skylights, sealants, glazing, doors, and windows. 7. Remove existing lightning protection system prior to start of structural work and furnish and install a new lightning protection system after parapet wall and reroofing work is completed. 8. Perform all other work as specified in the Specifications and as shown on the Plans, including all incidental work. The estimated cost of the work under Contract 15-069-3D, is between $22,597,650.00 and $27,355,050.00 Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond in the amount of SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($600,000.00). Each bid bond must be underwritten by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, listed in the latest copy of the Federal Register and approved by the Director of Procurement and Materials Management. The bid bond must contain signatures from the Bidder and Surety Company. Failure to provide signatures on the bid bond will result in the rejection of the bid. Photographic and/or stamped signatures are acceptable. Any proposal submitted without being accompanied by the required bid deposit, in the aforesaid form, will not be considered and will not be read after it is publicly opened. The work under this Contract is classified as "Construction Services-GC" for the MBE, WBE, SBE Utilization Goals contained in the Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D. The associated goals are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), 10% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), 10% Small Business Enterprises (SBE), and 3% Veteran Business Enterprises (VBE). All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/.01 et.seq.) The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, unless all bids are rejected. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. It is understood and agreed that the Contractor shall complete all of the work required under this Contract within 1100 calendar days after approval of the Contractor's Bond.
