**As of March 24, 2022, project was awarded to E&B Paving LLC, awarded amount is $255,290.27.** Notice is hereby given that Miami County, Indiana, by its Board of Commissioners, requisitioned by Kerry Worl, Highway Superintendent, will receive sealed bids for the following Hot Mixed Asphalt Paving Project in 2021: Two miles of CR 800 North from Old Route 31 to Just pass 150 West Bids shall be awarded at the Board's meeting scheduled for Monday, November 1, 2021, around 11:00 AM. The Board of Commissioners may accept or reject any bids, and may waive bid irregularities. The work shall consist of HMA paving including layout, traffic control, cleanup and associated work. We would like work to be completed prior to December 31, 2021 (weather permitting), if not an extension may be requested The Bidder must be prequalified in Asphalt Paving with a Certified Asphalt Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material and equipment to prepare the existing road bed for paving. Preparation shall be such that a smooth transition is obtained from newly paved areas to existing pavements. Payment for preparation will be included in mobilization/demobilization per project location. In the preparation of an existing asphalt or concrete pavement for paving, the Contractor shall remove dirt, gravel, sod and other debris from the existing pavement edges, followed by sweeping of the pavement surface. Voids, holes or depressions deeper than one (1) inch shall be filled and compacted during the wedge and level (scratch coat) operation. Payment for HMA used to fill voids, holes or depressions will be per ton of the wedge and level mixture placed. A tack coat shall be applied at the rate of 0.05 to 0.10 gal per square yard immediately preceding the placement of each layer of HMA. Payment for tack coat will be per TON applied. When the existing pavement surface is gravel or stone or when a new gravel or stone base is constructed, the surface shall be graded and compacted by rolling to produce a smooth and uniform surface prior to paving with HMA. The cost of grading and compacting shall be included in the cost per project location for preparation. The Contractor shall furnish all labor and equipment to maintain traffic in accordance with the 2011 Indiana Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (2011 Indiana MUTCD with Revision #1) and most recent updates. The cost of maintaining traffic shall be included in the cost of mobilization/demobilization. The Contractor shall provide surface milling approximately two feet wide for butt joints at locations where the new pavement surface meets existing paved driveways, roadway intersections, or as directed by Miami County. Payment will be per linear foot of butt joint milled. The Contractor shall taper the edge of the asphalt course at all pedestrian sidewalks to create/maintain a traversable profile. The cost of shall be included in the cost of the HMA surface course. The Contractor shall clean up and properly dispose of any excess materials and debris resulting from the work. The cost of cleanup and disposal shall be included in the cost of the various items.
