Renovation of a mixed-use development in Knoxville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

This project will renovate a portion of the UT Conference Center in order to house the department of Audiology & Speech Pathology. The project will provide offices, clinic space, audiology research labs, pathology research labs, student work rooms, conference rooms, and observation space. A state of the art therapeutic playground for the children served at the clinics will also be provided. As of March 29th, 2023; this project is currently bidding for a general contractor. Written addenda will be issued based on questions submitted no later than seven (7) days prior to the bid date. Questions submitted after that date will be answered if considered essential to the Owner's interest. Scope of work and bid alternates were discussed. The Architect emphasized the following: A. Acoustical construction: 1. Large number of acoustical partitions. 6" batt insulation 2. Use of sound isolation clips. 3. Use of putty pads at all backboxes in partitions. 4. Sealing of acoustical partitions at top, bottom, intersections and all penetrations. B. Contractor requirement to coordinate with sound booth installation. Contractor performs ground penetrating radarsurvey, floorslab demolition, installation oflowered slabs atsound booth locations, floor infill at future sound booths, coordination of scheduling for sound booth delivery and installation, MEP services to sound booths, and trimout of installation. C. Windows. One replacement window bay is needed at second floor. This window will be changed to a curtain wall system from storefront to match the previous phase window construction.
