The Work consists of the construction of Entry Modifications at six (6) Middle Schools. A pre-bid conference will not be held. A site visit will be not be held. Attendance by general contractors at the pre-bid conference is strongly recommended (not mandatory). Only those General Contractors who were Prequalified to Bid will be eligible to submit a construction bid for this project. Prequalified General Contractors are: Dustin Construction, Inc.; Ijamsville, MD FHP Tectonics; McLean, VA TMG Construction Corporation; Purcellville, VA Turner Construction Company; Reston, VA Request for documents must be received at least 4 days prior to receiving bids. Documents will not be distributed until the above noted Contractor information is received. Addenda, or notification of electronic posting of addenda with instructions for accessing them via the Internet, will be transmitted to all who are known by the Architects office to have received a complete set of Bidding Documents. Furnish an e-mail address authorized to receive notifications from the Architect. TheInstructions to Bidders shall be considered a part of the Invitation to Bid as if included herein. Procedures for submitting bids, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids, negotiations with lowest bidder, and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding. The Bidder will be required to comply with non-discrimination regulations and to require suppliers and subcontractors to comply with such regulations also. Bidders may inspect the site during normal business hours by contacting the Owner at (571) 252-1161 to arrange the site visit. Pursuant to 2.2-4311.1 of the Code of Virginia, the contractor does not and shall not during the performance of the contract knowingly employ an unauthorized alien as defined in the Federal Immigration and Control Act of 1986.
