Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Provo, Utah. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Job: J21454.00 SCOPE OF THE WORK: To install a new restroom facility, fencing and playgrounds at Rock Canyon Park (2620 North 1200 East, Provo, UT 84604). Refer to the Project Specifications Bid Set for a more complete description of the Project and proposed construction. Contractors are responsible for clean-up and disposal of excess construction debris, SWPPP, Fugitive dust control plan, and onsite dust control. It is expected that the chosen Contractor will follow the contents of this document and the accompanying drawings and specifications within the specified schedule. 1) New Restroom building to be built as per plan: a) Utilities b) Restroom Structure c) Restroom Mechanical d) Restroom Plumbing e) Walkways/ Concrete f) Handrailing g) Electrical h) All remaining miscellaneous items to construct as per plan. 2) Playground Equipment and installation: a) Chill Spinner b) Oodle Swing c) Log Crawl Tunnel with Log Steppers d) Topsy Turny Spinner or Fly Whirl Spinner e) Double Bay Ziprooz f) Sol Spinner g) Double Arch Net Climber h) Poured in Place Concrete Slide i) All remaining miscellaneous items to construct as per plan. j) All playground equipment shall meet ASTM F1487 and CPSC standards 3) Rubberized Play Surfacing Materials: a) Playground Surfacing: Bonded Poured in Place Rubber i) 50% Light Grey and 50% Tan ii) Thickness per fall heights of equipment iii) Shall meet ASTM D412, D624, D2047, D2859, E303, F1292, and F1951. iv) A single layer rubber-urethane playground surfacing which has been designed, manufactured, and installed to meet the following criteria: (1) Shock attenuation (ASTM F1292): (a) Gmax: Less than 200. (b) Head Injury Criteria: Less than 1000. (2) Flammability (ASTM D2859): Pass. (3) Tensile Strength (ASTM D412): 60 psi (413 kPa). (4) Tear Resistance (ASTM D624): 140%. (5) Water Permeability: 0.4 gal/yd2/second. (6) Accessibility: Comply with requirements of ASTM F1951 b) Provide materials and labor to install surfacing between April 1 and November 1 in temperatures within the manufacturers recommended range. c) Engineered Wood Fiber in all designated plan areas (material and labor). 4) Other a) Park Benches and Bench Pads 5) Fencing: a) Remove and Dispose of Existing Fencing around water tank b) New 6inch Ornamental Fencing as per plan c) 12inch Concrete Mow Strip under Ornamental Fencing as per plan d) 16inch wide Maintenance Access Gate as per plan 6) Bid Alternate A: square foot price for asphalt trail removal and replacement Requests for clarification must be submitted in writing through the U3P website. Each question should reference a specific section, page and item of this document. Answers to the written questions will be posted on the U3P web site for all parties to view. Final clarification submission August 24, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. The right is reserved by Provo City to reject any or all RFB's and to waive defects in order to make awards to the most competitive and responsible respondent.
