From the original issue date until the contract is awarded, the only authorized City contact will be the Purchasing Officer or the Purchasing staff listed below. In the event the bidder to whom an award is made fails or refuses to perform under or to execute the contract, if required, within eight (8) calendar days from the date of receiving notification of award, the City may declare the bidder's bid deposit or bond forfeited as damages caused by the failure of the bidder to enter into the contract, and may award to the next lowest bidder, or may call for new bids.
