Site work and paving for a road / highway in Saint George, South Carolina. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The US Highway 78 Phase 3A Project includes improvements to approximately 5.1 miles of US 78 between Old Orangeburg Road/Dawson Branch Road and Maple Street. The project includes road widening, intersection improvements, and bicycle and pedestrian accommodations along the corridor. This project is one phase of a larger scale project to improve approximately 27 miles of US Highway 78 from the Town of St. George to the Town of Summerville. Project is included Dorchester County FY 2025-2029. As of November 25, 2024, project is in the design/Right-of-way stage. Engineer has been identified. General contractor not selected yet. Construction expected June 2025-June 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
