All bids submitted in excess of $50,000 by a prime or subcontractor to do erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work, on public projects must comply with Section 31-3-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, must have a Certificate of Responsibility license, Where applicable, the foregoing certificate number and license number must be indicated on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope before it can be opened. The principal items of work under this contract are: Remove & Replace Existing Roof with New Single Ply Membrane Roofing System. (Approximately 10,000 Square Feet) A. This specification provides a remedial coating system for application over approved roofing systems. The use is restricted to circumstances where the roofsurface is in sound condition, but requires a renewal ofthe surface due to the normal effect of aging and use. The existing roofing system is a 17 year old Duro-Last Roofing System (PVC). It is the responsibility ofthe contractor to verify that all coating systems are compatible with the existing membrane. These specifications are based on the "Duro-Shield" RoofCoating System and components. The Contractor shall submit supporting documentation that all products will meet or exceed these specifications. B. RoofCoating shall be a high solids, solvent-free, silicone roof coating which moisture cures to a durable, breathable, waterproofbarrier that is highly resistant to degradation from UV and natural weathering. C. Scope: Installation of Silicone roof coating, labor and accessory materials. D. Exclusions: This guide specification does not include: repair or replacement ofroof accessory items such as vents, expansion joints, drains, penetrations and mechanical equipment; evaluation and correction ofroofload capacity or wind uplift resistance.
