Site work for a municipal facility in Preston Holw, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
This project consists of partial removal of an existing landfill cap, excavation of approximately 1,000,000 cubic yards of in-place waste from an approximate 25-acre footprint of the Old Landfill and relocating the waste to the existing Valley Fill area (approximately 25 acres) to be compacted. Total estimated quantity of landfill cap/cover materials is about 560,000 cubic yards in Phase I. Intention is to reuse intermediate cover materials (and cap/cover materials if needed) for daily operations/waste placement and/or stockpiling surplus cap/cover materials at designated locations on-site. The subgrade will be sampled by Owner's engineer for reclaiming the excavated footprint, with potential for select additional over excavation of the subgrade depending on analytical results. Project includes related storm water and leachate management requirements to facilitate the work, as well as partial decommissioning and extension of existing Gas Collection and Control System. The Project involves waste handling and landfill operations in accordance with 6-CRR-NY Part 363-11 Landfill Reclamation and the related operating requirements for the facility.
