Renovation of a mixed-use development in Macungie, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; and library.

The work to be performed under this Contract generally consists of a series of roof repairs to the existing roof system as listed in the Summary of Work drawings. All bids must include lump sum or unit prices to be considered for award by the Township at their option after review of the bid amounts. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft or bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the total price bid made payable to the Township. The bidder's attention is called to the fact that the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act applies to this Contract, if the estimated cost of the project is in excess of $25,000 and that the successful bidder shall pay no less than the wage rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The successful bidder will be required to furnish separate bonds with corporate surety issued by companies authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the prescribed forms dated the date of the Contract, or separate Federal or Commonwealth chartered lending institution irrevocable letters of credit in a form accepted and approved by the Township, or separate restrictive or escrow accounts with such lending institutions pursuant to an escrow agreement accepted and approved by the Township, each equal toone hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, to secure (a) the faithful performance and maintenance of the Contract; and (b) the prompt payment of materials and labor. Bidders are advised that all applicable provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (Public Law 91-596, dated December 29, 1970, latest revision) shall be strictly adhered to on this project. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 11/8/2021 4:00 PM ET The information in this drawing set provided herein is based upon partial building plans provided by the Owner and non-forensic field observations that have been compiled for the convenience of the contractor for bidding purposes and cannot be construed as exact. Accuracy is to be field verified. Contractors must examine the job conditions and verify all measurements, distances, elevations, clearances, etc. and base their bids and work on verified conditions. The city of Macungie, Pennsylvania in Lehigh County hereby adopts and elects to enforce the provisions of the work to be performed in conformance with the latest adopted 2015 International Building Code (IBC), 2015 IECC; ASHRAE 90.1-2015 building codes, 2015 IBC for mechanical & plumbing codes, local governing building codes, local ordinances and all referenced standards. These documents serve to depict the final configuration of improvements, not dictate all responsibilities the contractors have in achieving that end. The contractor is to report to the designer any conflict between bid documents, field conditions and/or code requirements prior to commencement of work. All products proposed for use shall be in accordance with applicable federal, state and local governing ordinances, codes and regulations. Notify the consultant immediately of conflicts between the specified products and/or project work requirements and codes, ordinances and/or regulations The Base Bid Roof Repair Work consists of the following: Remove the existing skylight, structural components, associated sheet metal trim and EPDM flashings and properly dispose of properly. Remove and replace (with new) the adjacent standing seam headwall flashing to expose the extents of the EPDM flashing and properly tie-in. Apply new waterproofing and flashing to the existing skylight curb with adhered 60 mil black EPDM membrane. Properly tie in new flashing to existing per existing manufacturers details. Install new metal flashing as shown on the drawings. Fabricate and install new standing seam head wall flashing to match existing metal in color and dimension. Install new translucent skylight system as specified.
