Federal prevailing wages and equal opportunity practices will be required for successful bidders. There shall be furnished a dewatering system to replace the existing use of drying beds. The existing sludge process uses a dewatering tower that utilizes a diaphragm pump that pumps to each of the drying beds. The new dewatering system shall replace the diaphragm pump with a grinder and sludge pump that will feed a dewatering screw press which will be installed within the first drying bed. The new dewater system shall include a grinder and sludge pump installed in pump room and shall include the control panel for these, a dewatering screw press, flocculation tank, polymer make down system, sludge feed pump and local control panel all integrally mounted, pre-piped and pre-wired to each other on an aluminum or stainless-steel skid to be mounted in the existing drying bed. A 4'Wx4'Lx3'H stainless steel bin will be shipped loose for placement under the ischarge end of the screw press skid to capture the dry cake. All equipment shall be provided by a single manufacturer. The dewatering screw press skid shall be capable of processing municipal wastewater activated sludge. Power wiring to the control panel is by others. Control wiring between the control panel and pump room is by others. The dewatering tank holds approximately 50,000 gallons of sludge to be processed when full. The sludge in the tower has a TS of between 2.5% and 3.5%. The dewatering system shall be capable of a flow rate of 20 GPM through put and provide a dry cake with a TS of 18% to 25% and have a 90% to 95% capture rate of solids
