Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Compton, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

As of January 28, 2022, the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award not yet been established. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to have been prequalified by the District. In addition, if the Project has electrical, mechanical, or plumbing components that will be performed by subcontractors performing under the following license classification(s), then each of those subcontractors that intend to bid as a first-tier subcontractor to a general contractor (prime contractor) are required to have been prequalified by the District: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, C-46, C-51 and/or C-53. In accordance with the provisions of Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, the DISTRICT requires that the bidder possess the following classification(s) of contractor's license at the time the bid is submitted: a) Class A or B The Bidder's license(s) must be active and in good standing at the time of the bid opening and must remain so throughout the term of the Contract. Any bidder not so licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as non-responsive The estimated cost for this project is between $900,000 and $1,300,000 Project Scope of Work: The scope of work consists of the following: 1 Remove existing chain-link fencing, gates, poles and pole footings. 2 Remove existing concrete paving. 3 Coordinate with the City of Compton Public Works and construct one (1) new 30-foot wide driveway. 4 Coordinate with the City of Compton Public Works and construct one (1) new 26 foot wide driveway. 5 Remove one (1) on-site tree and roots. 6 Grub, grade, over excavate, compact and install new asphalt paving to construct a new parking area. 7 Strip the parking lot. 8 Furnish and install accessible parking signs. 9 Construct accessible curb ramps with truncated domes. 10 Construct new concrete curb and gutter. 11 Construct new concrete paving. 12 Furnish and install seven (7) new parking lot lights, poles and bases. 13 Furnish and install new chain-link fencing and gates. 14 Modify existing wrought iron fence, furnish and install two (2) new wrought iron gates. All bids shall comply with all applicable labor compliance requirements under the California Labor Code, including but not limited to, registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (Labor Code Sections 1771.1(a) and 1725.5), 1771, 1771.4, 1773.2, 1774, 1776, 1777.5, 1813, and 1815 All bids shall be on the form provided by the District. Each bid must conform and be responsive to all pertinent Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Instructions to Bidders. As security for its Bid, each bidder shall provide with its Bid form. a. a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District, b. cash, or c. a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Compton Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days afterthe date ofthe Notice of Award, enterinto a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors shall pay all workers on the Project not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work isto be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are on file with the District and are available to any interested party on request or at www.dir.ca.gov/oprl/statistics_and_databases.html. Bidders and Bidders' subcontractors shall comply with the registration and qualification requirements pursuant to sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 of the California Labor Code. TheDistrict's Board reservesthe right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Ifthe District awardsthe Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s)shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. The District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder based on the base bid amount only.
