The Project will consist of the construction of an approximately 23,000 SF building shared by the Fire and Police Departments. Program elements include fire apparatus storage, classroom, break area, staging, large areas for reality based training exercises, and support spaces. The address of the project is One Circle Dr. #C, Sugar Land, Texas 77498. Full Scope of Work is described within the drawings and specifications, available by request from Martinez Architects, and made available from Associated General Contractors, Mc Graw Hill Construction/Dodge, and Virtual Builders Exchange. The estimated construction budget for this project is $8,500,000.00. Proposers must submit a Proposal Bond with their Proposals in the amount of 5% of the estimated total amount of the Proposal, inclusive of any Proposal alternates, as a guarantee that the Proposer will enter into the Contract and execute the Performance and Payment Bonds as required after the Contract is approved by the City's City Council. Proposers must use the Proposal Bond form provided by the City in the Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals. The Surety must be authorized to write surety bonds in the State of Texas. The City will return the Proposal Bonds of the unsuccessful Proposers not later than 10 days after the City Council awards the Contract to the successful Proposer. The successful Proposer must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds, in the amount of 100% of the negotiated Contract price, executed by a Surety authorized to do business in the State of Texas and meeting the other requirements of Chapter 3503, Tex. Insurance Code. The successful Proposer must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds within ten days of the City of Sugar Land City Council's award of the Contract. The cost of the Performance and Payment Bonds must be included in the Contract Price. The successful Proposer (as Contractor) and its subcontractors are required to pay the minimum prevailing wages as shown in the Labor Classifications and Minimum Wage Rates included as part of the City's Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals.
