The City of Bonita Springs, Florida is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Bonita Springs Skate Park and Pump Track. The City of Bonita Springs will construct a new skate park and pump track facility which will be approximately 14,450 square feet in area. The facility will be comprised of a skate park area (+/- 10,250 square feet). The skate park will accommodate all levels of experience and includes a beginner's line area, steps, ramps, bowls, and decks. There will also be a spectator area with picnic tables under shade for viewing, along with a separate pump track area (+/- 4,200 square feet). The Park facility will encompass and include surrounding berms, retaining walls and concrete upper decks for patrons. The project will require select demolition and removal of the existing slab and outdoor building elements noted on the plans as well as cleaning and restoration of original drainage inlets and outflows to the current storm management system. The plans intend to rebuild the park atop the same footprint as before however the new facilities shape and grades will require construction throughout the park area that includes storm drainage additions to the system, new park skate, pedestrian, bike and observation elements, shade structures, new structural connections or bearing points, concrete and metal works along with all other required finished hardscape and landscape elements as called for in the drawings. Fence line repairs and gating is required. The existing containment wall on the south side of the park is not structural and is not intended for bearing or carrying elements of the park. The adjacent Recreation Center will remain open to the public during the project. All construction access and egress to the site and necessary maintenance of traffic requirements are the responsibility of the contractor. All safety requirements of construction shall follow the City of Bonita Springs, OSHA, and all other applicable standards of the construction contract. Contractor and sub-contractor must have completed three (3) public concrete (pre-cast excluded) skate park facilities with a minimum size of 10,000 square feet, in the last five (5) years with smooth trowel finish or shotcrete and cast-in-place concrete. Parks must be open and in good operating condition for at least one year. A Bid Security and Public Construction Bond will be required for this project.
