Board of Trustees of the Sierra Joint Community College District invites Design Build Entities (DBE) by Education Code Section 81701 (c) to complete and submit a Prequalification Questionnaire and Statement of Qualifications for the design, construction, and DSA certification of a New Student Housing Building ("Project") at the Rocklin campus. Questions Due Date: Nov 12th 2021, 2:00 PM PST A new student housing building of approximately 131,000 square feet with 3 levels
for a minimum of 354 students including 10 Resident Assistants. The project includes site development
and related utility work. The building will be located on the south edge of campus on what is now parking
lot A-2 (see the Facilities Master Plan map here: www.sierracollege.edu/improvements). The building
will consist of accessible apartment-style residences for 4 students with 2 double bedrooms, a small
common area, kitchenette (sink, microwave, small refrigerator/freezer), and 1-1/2 bathrooms. Each floor
will include read / study/workspaces and student life spaces. The building common spaces include
residence management offices and workspace, a Campus Security substation (check-in desk plus office),
laundry rooms, a fitness center, an activity room / full kitchen / lounge, and student support
space. Lobbies and hallways are open to promote circulation and informal gathering. Exterior amenities
should include gaming areas, bicycle / skateboard storage, shaded social gathering spaces, and an outdoor
eating / cooking area.
The District will use the Design Build delivery method authorized by Education Code Section 81700 et
seq. with a preliminary Design Build Budget of $65.9 million.
A payment bond and a performance bond will be required prior to execution of a contract amendment
establishing the GMP. The payment bond shall be in the form called for in the Contract Documents
