Description of Contract 1. The work includes the furnishing of the labor, materials and equipment and the construction of the following: 1. Replacement of the existing wastewater treatment plant with a new 25,000 GPD packaged wastewater treatment plant that serves the community of Schuyler. 2. Demolition of some, but not all, structures of the existing wastewater treatment plant. 3. Construction of a new access road 4. Site grading and new fencing 5. Installation of a New Packaged Pumping Station 2. The work includes the furnishing of the labor, materials and equipment and the construction of the following: 1. Placement of 1,300 LF of new 2-IN sewer forcemain. 2. Placement of 2,600 LF of new 10-IN PVC gravity sewer lines. 3. Placement of 4,100 LF of new 8-IN PVC gravity sewer lines Instructions to Bidders. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term iron and steel products means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials.
