Site work for a transportation facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.

For Civil, Site and Structural Improvements for Installation of the Second Track and New Maintenance of Way Yard Amtrak intends to accept qualification submissions for this upcoming solicitation as described below. Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, will determine which firms are to be added to its bid list. Interested firms that can meet the minimum qualifications listed below should forward a Letter of Interest indicating such to: christopher.angelone@amtrak.com It is anticipated that a Solicitation for this procurement will be issued in Spring of 2022, and that construction will begin in Fall of 2022. Minimum Qualifications: Comparable Prime Contractor Project experience ($10M - $20M range) Qualified list of construction personnel Financial resources /capability/bonding Davis Bacon and certified payroll reporting List of previous civil, railroad construction/drainage improvement and structural experience List of previous work coordinating work activities with Amtrak force account crews that will be performing the track and signal work on the project. The Work consists of the civil, site and structural work required to build a second track between MP 48.3 and 49.3 as well as a new Maintenance of Way (MOW) Yard at MP 47.4 in Windsor Locks, CT on Amtraks Springfield Line. Work tasks to be performed as part of this project include: civil site work, subgrade work, installation of drainage, replacement of three culverts at MP 44.1, 48.87, 48.92 and 49.15, installation of soldier pile and lagging retaining walls, installation of precast panels to support track north and south of the Bridge St. intersection, installation of a pedestrian bridge, excavation and handling of contaminated materials, installation of electrical manholes, ductbanks and conduit for commercial power and Amtraks communication and signal cables. This project will require close coordination with adjacent projects by both Amtrak force account crews as well as CDOT contractors working on the Windsor Locks Station and the CSO siding projects.
