The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement to install a permanent steel trash loading platform, guardrails, and chaining at the loading dock in Parking Visitor North (PVN,) 1700 N. Wheeling Street, Aurora, CO 80045. Contractor shall demolish and dispose of existing temporary wood rail loading platform adjacent to the trash dumpster. Reference attached drawing 12-AI-400-B and attached photographs of existing temporary platform. Contractor shall fabricate and install a 16'-0" x 4'-0"permanent loading platform with OSHA 1910.29(b) compliant guardrails to replace the temporary platform. Platform shall be metal and capable of holding a 1500 pound loaded cart and four staff. Flooring or grating surface shall be non-slip. Reference attached sketch for sample replacement platform. Contractor shall fabricate and install guard posts and removable chain link between posts or similar so as to allow access for loading the trash dumpster while maintaining compliance with OSHA 1910.29(b) above.
