Project Location: Jewel Cave National Monument, 11149 US Hwy 16 B-12, Custer, SD 57730 Work consists of: a. Remove and replace the existing windows indicated on the plans, and/or photographs. Work includes demolition of the existing windows, installation of new windows, associated trims, flashings, aprons, sealants, paints and as specified herein..... b. Remove and replace existing window wells with permanent ladders and clear covers and provide 6" depth of 3/4 " rock or gravel at floor of well to provide minimum drainage. Project Description: The apartment unit was built in 1990. There are a total of 21 windows of various sizes in this project, 20 are remove and replace, 1 is cutting a new opening for new window. Three of these windows are in apartments that are below grade, the window wells currently do not provide a large enough access for working on. All associated work with replacement of these windows shall include refinishing or replacing kind of exterior trim to have the same appearance texture and color to match existing. All windows interior finishes shall be restored to match current interior finish color and texture. All windows shall be properly caulked to seal and protect from weather, caulking color to match or be paintable and painted to match existing colors.
