Renovation of a municipal facility in Ottawa, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Remove existing flooring in specified areas Install flooring and cove base according to manufacturer's specifications Prepare the substrate with joint filling and scraping Bid to include appropriate moisture testing in areas where new flooring is installed. By starting the project, the contractor accepts that the substrate is acceptable for installation. Alternate bid to show unit cost per square foot to mitigate any moisture issues including maximum potential square footage. All work must be performed in accordance with federal, state and local codes in force with the City of Ottawa, Kansas, and Franklin County, Kansas. This includes all required inspections, permits and approvals from the City of Ottawa Planning and Zoning Department. Project requirements shall be as follows: The areas to be completed are: the main hallway through the building, the Commission Chambers, and the immunization room within the health department. All hallways must remain open to the public during regular business hours (7am - 5pm) Unless a solution is made to allow daytime work while allowing the hallways to remain open, work will have to take place outside of regular business hours. All work should be completed by 12/31/2021. Flooring to be installed throughout the hallways and Commission Chambers: Mohawk 628 Lenox. Flooring to be installed in the Health Department immunization room: Mohawk 958 Cole Flooring to be installed in Restrooms: EF Contract Flooring 2961290/Giant Steps Flooring to be installed in vestibules: Mohawk Tuff Stuff II, Step Up II 989 Obsidian Cove base color: TBD The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all building permits. The cost of the required permits should be included in the cost of the project. SITE RESTORATION: The Contractor shall ensure that all debris generated by the project is removed from the project area as needed to allow continued use by the public not less than daily, or as often as County staff deems necessary to maintain safe working conditions in the area. More specifically, all construction debris, dust or any other materials generated during the job shall be removed from the work area before completion. Upon completion of the entire project operation the site should be returned to a like condition that existed prior to work being done. DISPOSAL OF MATERIAL: Contractor shall legally dispose of all waste material generated from the project at a dump site compliant with Local, State and Federal regulations. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond from a company with an A-1 best rating, or a cashier's check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid and made payable to the client address Franklin County, Kansas, 315 S. Main, Ottawa, KS 66067. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the bid opening date without the consent of the County. Checks or drafts of unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as possible after opening and reviewing the bids. Successful bidder must provide proper insurance, a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in the full amount of the Contract, acceptable to the County. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any minor informality or irregularity in any bid, to negotiate changes and/or modifications with the lowest responsible bidder and to make award to the response deemed to be the most advantageous to the County. Bidders shall be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, including those relating to employment of labor without discrimination on the basis of age, race, color handicap, sex, national origin or religious creed.
