The Shelby County Public Library Board of Trustees, announce that sealed LUMP SUM BID PROPOSALS for furnishing all materials and performing all work necessary to complete: LIBRARY INTERIOR RENOVATION - 2021 for SHELBY COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY College & Eighth St Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky Lump Sum Bid Proposals shall be addressed to the Board from qualified General Contractors as follows: Pam Federspiel, Director Shelby County Public Library Board of Trustees 309 Eighth St. Shelbyville, KY 40065 Bids will be accepted from qualified General Contractors, by The Library Board of Trustees, at the Existing Library located as noted above. All Contractors shall visit the site to become familiar with the project requirements. Later claims for labor, equipment, or materials required or difficulties encountered which could have been foreseen had such examination been made, will not be recognized. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE LIBRARYDIRECTLY ON THE PROJECT. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Owner invites the following Bid on the related Project. The Project consists of the CONSTRUCTION for the renovation of approximately 6,000 SF, of the Existing Library Building. Additionally there will be finishes replacement, flooring & painting in the remainder of the 15,672 SF library. The library will remain open and occupy the areas of the building not renovated. The library will close for a time during the finishes replacement portion of the project. The project shall include but not limited to metal stud wall framing, gypsum board finishes, flooring, painting, replacement carpet, doors + hardware, aluminum glass sliding mall front doors, HVAC ductwork modifications, HVAC replacement, new LED lighting, electrical power, data and communication wiring, and other related work necessary to complete all work as shown on the Construction time will be as follows: (210) Calendar days for entire Substantial Completion, Subject to further description as described in Specifications 01010- Special Conditions. Bidder's Qualifications Bidder's Qualifications are/may be required by the Owner for the Contractors to be submitted by the apparent low and/or best bidder as determined and as requested by the Owner, and as set forth herein: The Contractor must be properly licensed, in the state of Kentucky, and have adequate plant and equipment to perform the work properly and expeditiously. General Contractor shall be Bondable for Performance and Labor & Materials Payment Bonds as required. Contractor qualification - contractor shall Show experience in successful completion of [3] similar projects of this scope and size along With recommendation of clients. Contractors That cannot provide adequate experience or Recommendation will be considered by the owner as Grounds for disqualification.
