For Collection and/or Disposal of Solid Waste & Curbside Recycling Service from Residential, Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial Properties in the Borough of Caldwell, N. J. in accordance with specifications prepared by the Borough of Caldwell. Bids must be on standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project outside, addressed to the Mayor and Borough Council, and will be opened and read at the place and on the hour above-named. There must be enclosed with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or Bid Bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, provided said check need not be more than $20,000 or less than $500, and be delivered at the place and on the hour above-named. Bid security will be held as a guaranty that in the event the bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract will be duly executed and if in default thereof, said Bid Security and the amount represented thereby will be forfeited to the aforesaid Borough of Caldwell as liquidated damages. Proposals will be accompanied, in the case of corporations not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. The Borough of Caldwell reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities therein, and to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. Bidders are required to comply with the Affirmative Action Requirements of P. L. 1975, c 127, the Disclosure Requirements of P.L. 1977, c 33, and any other requirements, as necessary. Attention is called to the fact that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, creed, sex, or national origin.
