Construction of a new reading garden within the vacant lot at the northwest corner of Indiana Ave and Harrison St and construction of a new four-bay maintenance garage within the existing vacant lot northeast of Harrison St and Madison St intersection. Owner will receive sealed bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows: Bids shall be filed with: Administrative Services La Porte County Public Library 904 Indiana Ave. La Porte IN 46350 Bids will be accepted during the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 PM (CST), up until 12:00 PM (CST) Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 (the "Deadline"). After opening the bids, the Board will take all bids under advisement and refer them to Library staff for review and tabulation. The Board will meet on Tuesday, December 7, at 6:30PM (CST) to review the tabulations for consideration of awarding the bid at this meeting. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5% of the bid amount. Bid security shall be a certified check or bid bond and shall be the bidder's guarantee that said bidder will, if the contract is awarded to said bidder, execute within ten (10) days of acceptance of the bid, a Contract for the work bid upon. All bid bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. An out-of-state contractor will have Indiana State Gross Income Tax withheld by the Owner, unless they can show proof that they are registered with the Indiana Secretary of State to conduct business in the State of Indiana.
