****As of December 30 , 2021, Bid is rejected This project consists of: Approximately 7,900 square feet of proposed welded wire basket face retaining wall, including all reinforcement geogrid, select backfill for the wall sections and 80 tons of class II rip-rap for toe protection for the wall. The slope above the wall will be graded to tie into the existing slope above the wall. Additionally, there will be approximately 100 LF of 18" RCP storm drain, 2 weir top reinforced concrete inlets, 2,000 square yards of solid sod, 340 LF of 6ft high vinyl coated chain link fence, erosion control and construction entrance. All Bidders must file with their bids either a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama and made payable to the City of Fairhope in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Contractor's bid but in no event more than $10,000 and shall have a current State of Alabama General Contractors License. Furthermore, any Contractor that desires to bid as prime Contractor must have at least one of the following major classifications of license per Section 230-X-.27 of the State of Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors Administrative Code: a) Highways and Streets b) Municipal and Utility c) Heavy and Rail Construction No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a proposal for this type of work in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. Where applicable, this shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. Bidder must have a current business license or purchase a business license with the City of Fairhope prior to work performed. No proposals shall be withdrawn for the period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the opening of proposals without the consent of the City of Fairhope. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must provide evidence by including a copy of his or her current license in the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. A total of SIXTY-FIVE (65) working days will be allowed for completion of work. The Contractor shall furnish a performance bond in an amount at least equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract prices as security for the faithful performance of this contract and also a payment bond in an amount not less than one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price.
