Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Clover, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The Scope of Work shall include: Specifications Contractor shall be responsible for removal and disposal of any existing materials. All work is to be performed in a professional manner, following recommended industry standards and practices. All fence, parts, hardware, etc. shall be black in color. Fence Fabric: Fabric will be No. 8 gauge fused and bonded vinyl fabric black in color and four feet (4') in height (approximately 1,140 linear feet). One location will require the fabric to be No. 8 gauge fused and bonded vinyl fabric black in color and six feet (6') in height (approximately 72 linear feet). See attached map. This specification covers chain link fabric made from galvanized steel wire which has been coated with polyvinyl compound. Selvage of fabric shall be knuckled at top and bottom. The vinyl coating of the chain link fabric shall be produced by methods recognized as good commercial practices. Careful inspections shall be made to determine the quality of vinyl coatings. Coatings not free of pinholes, bubbles, or voids, rougha or blistered surfaces shall provide a basis for rejection. An apparent mismatch of color readily discernable by visual inspection shall be cause for rejection. Line Posts: Line posts shall be Type II 2.375" OD steel post weighing 2.638 pounds per linear foot. These posts shall not be welded. The chain link fabric shall be tied to the line post with No. 6 gauge vinyl coated aluminum ties. Terminal: Terminal posts shall be Type II 2.875" OD steel round posts weighing 3.531 pounds per linear foot. These posts are not to be welded.Terminal Posts Fittings: Terminal posts fittings, including tension bands, brace connections and top rail connections shall be No. 14 gauge, hot dipped galvanized, cold rolled, carbon steel. Top rail, brace and truss bands shall not be less than three quarter inch (3/4") and not less than two inches (2") shorter than the normal height of the fabric with which they are to be used. One tension bar shall be provided for each end post, and two for each corner and pull post. Top Rail: Top rail shall be Type II 2.375" OD round steel pipe. An outside sleeve type coupling measuring not less than six inches (6") in length shall be provided at each interval of twenty-one feet (21'). The chain link fabric shall be tied to the rails at intervals of twenty-four inches (24") with 9 gauge vinyl coated aluminum ties. Brace Rail for Terminal Posts: Terminal posts shall be strengthened and reinforced by braces meeting the same specifications as the top rail. Braces shall be installed midway between the top rail and ground and extend from each post to the to the adjacent line post. Braces shall be securely fastened to post by heavy pressed steel connection and also be trussed from the post back to the terminal post with five sixteenths inch (5/16") round truss rods complete with lightening turnbuckle. Post Tops: Tops of posts shall be of pressed steel or capable of providing a through passage for top rail. Terminal posts tops shall be of pressed steel and be designated so as to exclude all moisture from the terminal post. The expected award date is December 29, 2021. Work is expected to be completed by February 28, 2022.
