Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The work consists of adding sod and irrigation around perimeter of playing surface in front of dugouts and behind home plate on infields known as fields #1 - 3 located at the Jimmy Seignious Fields at the Jones Center Materials: 1. 419 Bermuda sod 2. Rain Bird 5004 irrigation heads Successful Bidder must perform the following: 1. Excavate clay from infield to a depth of 3 starting from outfield grass, in front of dugouts and fence behind home plate, and haul off site. 2. Import Athletic Field Root Zone Mix to replace 3 of excavated clay. 3. Grade total area to provide a positive draining surface. 4. Blend Athletic Field Root Zone Mix with existing soil to prevent layering and provide a consistent soil profile. 5. Tie into existing lateral irrigation lines and install 6 to 10 Rain Bird 5004 irrigation heads to each field to provide efficient water coverage. 6. Install/replace irrigation valves as needed 7. Grade area again and prep surface for sod installation. 8. Install hybrid 418 Bermuda big roll sod. Tie into existing outfield sod. 9. Roll with smooth double drum roller. 10. Laser grade entire infield. 11. Clean up area disturbed by construction. Each Bidder must carefully examine the solicitation documents, including any Addenda. The Bidder must at once notify and place in writing any discrepancies or ambiguities in the solicitation documents to the Towns Procurement Division. Written notification/questions must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. on October 3, 2022. No allowance will be made for oversight or misunderstanding by the Bidder after Bids are received. E-Mail Address: cmorrissey@tompsc.com The Successful Bidder must provide and pay the cost of Separate Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Award. Each bond must be in the full amount of the Contract Sum. Bonds must be issued by a Surety Company Licensed in South Carolina, with an A minimum rating of performance as stated in the most current publication of Best Key Rating Guide, Property Liability which must show a financial strength rating of a least five (5) times the Contract Price. Each Bond must be accompanied by a Power of Attorney authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the Surety and certified to include the date of the bond. Bonding must be provided if the bid amount is $50,000 or over. All work must be started no earlier than November 21, 2022, and be completed no later than February 1, 2023. The Successful Bidder will agree that if the Work, or any part thereof, is not completed within the time agreed and indicated in the Contract Document that he will be liable to the Town in the amount of One Hundred and 00/100, ($100.00) Dollars per day for each and every calendar day the completion of the Work is delayed beyond the time provided in the Contract. All Bidders must submit lump sum totals for a turn-key, complete Project. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bid, to accept or reject any or all Bids received, to negotiate with all qualified Bidders and to award or refrain from awarding the Project to any Bidder, if it is in the best interest of the Town to do so.
