As of March 10, 2025, construction is complete. The Almira School District requests qualifications from Design-Builders for the complete rebuild of the K8 School using the procedure permitted under Chapter 39.10 of the RCW, as amended, for selected projects for public works contracting in lieu of sealed bids. The project consists of multiple facets. First, the team will be tasked with assisting the school and its consultants in determining and defending the costs to replace the existing facility which was built in 1954, in today's figures with all required code upgrades. Secondly, the team will be working with the district and its consultants to design and build an education facility which has all of the needs of a typical school district to last for the next 50 to 75 years or longer. Design is anticipated to begin in November/December 2021 and be complete May/June 2022 with construction beginning immediately and completing early 2023. The Design-Builder shall provide high-quality services including scheduling, phasing logistics, collaboration with the design consultants, manage and estimate design budgets and design contingency solutions, direct construction best-practices, organize design investigative work and provide assistance in the selection of materials and building systems, solicit and manage subcontractor bid packages and supplier bidding. The Design-Builder shall provide high-quality construction services to safely deliver a superior project that comprises the full scope of program needs set by the district that is on time and on budget.
