Rodenburg Road (from Central Avenue north to the railroad tracks): Staff was successful working with the Village of Schaumburg in having Rodenburg Road between Central Avenue and Irving Park Road reclassified as an STP route. Reclassification makes Rodenburg Road, north of Central Avenue, eligible for STP funding. The Rodenburg Road section in Schaumburg is under the Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC) for funding. However, both NWMC and DMMC follow similar requirements and it is more desirable to join projects for continuity. The Village entered into a cost sharing agreement with the Village of Schaumburg to conduct a Phase 1 preliminary engineering study. The purpose of the study was to better define the scope (pavement width, bike path, drainage requirements), railroad crossing implications (quiet zone), environmental impacts (wetlands), federal funding opportunities and estimated costs. In early 2020 both Roselle and Schaumburg applied for and were awarded STP funds for the reconstruction of Rodenburg Road in both communities. In 2022, Phase 2 Design Engineering will be completed as a joint effort with Schaumburg and wetland mitigation will begin. As of February 9, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2026 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
