Renovation of an educational facility in Detroit, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of 02/08/2022 Start date: To be determined. **As of December 09, 2021, the project has not been awarded yet. Anticipated to be awarded by mid-January 2022. Base bid to include removal, proper disposal, supply and installation of the new Interior/Exterior Door, frames and hardware. Replace all denoted Existing Exterior Doors, Frames, Hardware and Accessories Complete. The new exterior and interior doors and frames shall be products of one of the listed manufactures (Ceco, Mesker, Steelcraft, Pioneer-Detroit). Door Hardware to be by Von Duprin. The new interior steel frames shall be 18 gauge and exterior frames to be 16 gage. Refer to drawings for the location of door and frames to be replaced, contractor to field verify all final dimensions to adhere to existing opening. Contractor is responsible for providing and install all new glazing specified. Contractor is responsible for providing new key and locks to newly install cylinders. Electrical Power to the Automatic ADA Door Openers shall be provided by WCCCD. All installations and final electrical connections are the responsibility of the Contractor. A Mortise Cylinder Lock is to be provided on all entrance doors and specified doors. All work must be performed in strict accordance with applicable codes and ordinances. It is the responsibility of the contractor to familiarize themselves with the code requirements and perform all work accordingly. All existing door, frames and related materials to be removed and disposed of legally. Remove and reinstall existing ADA Door Opener to be fully operational. Contractor is to provide their own dumpster, location for dumpster will be provided by the owner. Shop Drawing and Project Manager approval of shop drawings are required for all finished materials prior to commencing work. Provide a 1-year Contractor labor and material Warranty. The Contractor shall be fully responsible for thoroughly examining all Site Conditions and Field Measurements prior to the submission of the Bid Proposal. Bidders may offer Voluntary Alternates that are acceptable to WCCCD and meet the intent of the drawings, specifications and implied scope of work. WCCCD's Program Manager, Ekklesia Building Corporation will review and approve all work performed on this project. When submitting your Bid Package, please provide one (1) original and two (2) copies. A certified check, bank cashier's check or bid bond equal to five percent (5%) of your total base bid is required for each bid; the items should be made payable to Wayne County Community College District. A bid bond shall be issued by a bonding company licensed to transact business in the locality. The successful bidder's bid guarantee will be retained until he has entered into a contract with the College. The College reserves the right to hold the bid guarantee of the next two bidders until the successful bidder has entered into a contract with the College, or for a period of sixty (60) days, whichever time elapses first. Bid guarantees of all other bidders will be returned to them as soon as possible after the bid opening. Should a bidder fail to enter into a contract with the College within ten (10) days, after his bid is accepted, his bid guarantee will be forfeited to the College as liquidated damages but not as a penalty. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond for (100%) of the contract may be required for construction projects.
