RFI Deadline: November 15, 2021 - 4:00 p.m. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers' check payable to the District, cash or a satisfactory Bid Bond in favor of the District, executed by the bidder as principal and a satisfactory surety company as surety, in the amount of $20,000 (five percent {5%} of the estimated usage of $400,000). Personal checks will not be accepted. The check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the awarded bidder shall execute the contract in conformity with the contract documents and shall provide the surety bonds, as specified, within five (5) days after notification of the award of the contract to the bidder. Said security shall be paid to the District as liquidated damages should the awarded bidder fail to execute the contract and provide said bonds within five (5) calendar days of award. This project is subject to DIR Public Works Funding Legislation - SB 854. To bid on this Project, all contractors and subcontractors must be registered online as a public works contractor with the California Department of Industrial Relations at electronically. Payment and Performance Bonds, in the amount of $200,000, will be required prior to the execution of the contract. The Payment and Performance Bonds shall be in the form and amount set forth in the Contract Documents. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of NINETY (90) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities in any bid. SCOPE OF WORK Contractor to provide the necessary labor, equipment, and material to provide ASPHALTIC CONCRETE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT DISTRICTWIDE, on an as-needed basis through June 30, 2023. The scope shall include related construction services which supplement the services under this contract. Should site work repair/construction be required, which is not covered by the specification of this contract, the contractor may be requested to submit a quote and issued a separate purchase order to cover that scope of work.
