Steuben County has received approval for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist The Woodlands Community, Inc., a manufactured housing cooperative. CDBG funds will be used to construct electrical system and paving improvements to serve this community. The housing development, located in the Town of Hornellsville, includes 96 housing lots for single and double wide manufactured houses. Engineering services are required for the following two (2) separate activities: 1) Electrical engineering services are needed for the design and installation of the electrical and lighting system; and 2) Engineering services are needed to coordinate and oversee the installation of the top coat of asphalt on the roadway Both activities will have basically the same scope of work as provided. However, there will be limited design work required for the engineering services on the paving portion of the project. Electrical Engineering Services The electrical system improvements include the installation of 86 meters of 100 -150 amp wiring. There will be 43 pedestals installed with each one containing 2 meters, and they will be placed between every other mobile home unit. A common trench will be dug between these meter pedestals and the associated transformer and the wiring will be installed via a direct burial method at 24" below grade. The site lighting improvements include the installation of forty-four (44) 15' light poles placed uniformly along the roads throughout the park. The electrical wiring will be installed similarly to the electrical system improvements. Engineering Services The paving improvements include an overlay with 1" type 7F asphalt top, +/- 120,000 sf of existing asphalt roadway to include a tack coat prior to paving.
