Renovation of an educational facility in Storrs Manfld, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

RFI Deadline Date 2/01/2022 2:00 PM The University is engaged in a multi-year project to upgrade its network equipment and wired access infrastructure to the current standards. As part of this effort this coming summer two residence Hall complexes need upgrading: 1. Alumni Residence Halls include four similarly constructed seven-story dormitory towers - Watson Hall, Belden Hall, Eddy Hall, and Brock Hall - and Ryan Hall, a two-story business use facility. 2. West Campus Residence Halls include four similarly constructed four-story buildings - Alsop Hall, Hollister Hall, Shakespeare, Chandler/Lancaster,3. Depot Campus Longley School, a three-story business use facility. Alumni Residence Hall - Each of the 4 buildings will require replacing existing cable wiring. Currently, there are two telecom rooms per residential building that will be consolidated to a single room. The telecom rooms will need power upgrades, card access control, and lighting. Ryan Hall is limited to power, cooling, lighting. o Alumni Residence Hall Building characteristics: Each residence hall building has the approximate sizing Floors: 6 + basement - Assignable SQFT: Approximately 30,000, TRs: 2 to consolidate to one Student Rms: approximately 125, Staff/Faculty Rms: ~4, Utility Rms: ~4 o Ryan Hall: Equipment Only upgrade: Evaluation of telecom room for power, airflow, and lighting. o West Campus Residence Halls - Each of the 4 buildings will require replacing existing cable wiring. The telecom rooms will need power upgrades, card access control, and lighting o Each residence hall building has the approximate sizing Floors: 4 + basement Assignable SQFT: 17,500 Current TRs: 1 Student Rms: ~62 Staff/Faculty Rms: ~5 Utility Rms: ~4 o Depot - Longley Building - The building will require a partial replacement of cabling with work required in the telecom room to upgrade power, lighting, and card access The construction is planned to start: May 23, 2022 physical work on site may not commence sooner than May 10, 2022. Substantial Completion for Alumni and West Residence Halls - August 1, 2022. Punch list & corrections for Alumni and West Residence Halls shall be completed by August 15, 2022. Substantial Completion for Longley Building- September 1, 2022 Punch list & corrections for Alumni and West Residence Halls shall be completed by September 16, 2022. Construction duration: Two (2) Months SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENTS: The "Set-Aside" Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). 1. Project Location: West Residence Halls a. Alsop Hall - 450 Whitney Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. b. Hollister Hall - 2016 Hillside Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. c. Shakespeare/Troy Hall - 635 Gilbert Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. d. Chandler/Lancaster Hall - 625 Gilbert Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. 2. Project Location: Alumni Residence Halls a. Watson Hall - 630 Gilbert Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. b. Belden Hall - 632 Gilbert Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. c. Eddy Hall - 634 Gilbert Rd., Storrs, CT 06269. d. Brock Hall - 2000 Hillside Ave., Storrs, CT 06269. 3. Project Location: Depot Campus a. Longley Building - 270 Middle Turnpike, Storrs, CT 06269. 1. Longley School a. Demolish outdated telecom cabling and upgrade cabling to CAT 6 and CAT 6A on the first and second floor. Relabel all cabling in the building, both new and existing to remain. b. Relocate basement telecom room and retrofit rooms on the first and second floor to be converted to telecom rooms, including architecture, power, lighting, telecom racks, cable tray, fire protection and access control. 2. Alumni Residence Halls a. The scope of work includes four (4) buildings located in the Alumni ResidenceHall - Watson Hall, Belden Hall, Eddy Hall and Brock Hall. b. Each building has work on seven (7) floors; Ground through fourth floor. Theground and first floor plates are individual and floors 2-6 are identical. c. Upgrade the telecom room on the ground floor including new power panel anddedicated receptacles for telecom equipment, ventilation fan, card access, cable tray and telecom racks. d. Demolish outdated telecom cabling throughout the building and upgrade cabling to CAT 6 and CAT 6A on floors 1-6. Relabel all cabling in the building, both new and existing to remain. 3. West Residence Halls a. The scope of work includes four (4) buildings located in the West Residence Halls - Alsop Hall, Hollister Hall, Shakespeare Hall, Chandler / Lancaster Hall. b. Each building has work on five (5) floors; Ground through fourth floor. The ground and first floor plates are individual and floors 2-4 are identical. c.
