The Bedford Elementary School RoofRecovering and HVAC Replacement project generally consists ofthe demolition and replacement ofthe existing HVAC systems and roofing for the building(s). The project also includes limited electrical upgrades as necessary to accommodate the new mechanical equipment. The mechanical upgrades include the replacement of approximately 35 Fan-Powered VAV boxes, 9 rooftop AC units, a new heating water boiler and pumps, a new domestic water heater, a new BAS system, and propane tanks with associated piping to supply both the heating water boiler and domestic water boiler. The roofing replacement includes the removal and disposal of existing ballast stone, demolition of existing roofmembrane and associated edge metal, selective demolition and replacement ofwet/damaged insulation, installation ofnew recovery board, installation ofnew adhered single ply roofmembrane and associated edge metal. The deadline for submitting questions is Friday, November 19, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of 5 percent ofthe base bid. Bidders must be licensed as contractors in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia as amended; and meet requirements of Title 2.2, Chapter 43, Paragraph 2.2-4311, Employment Discrimination Prohibitions and Paragraph 2.2-4312, Drug Free Workplace.
