Renovation of an educational facility in Montreal, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 30,250-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
Upgrades, repairs and improvements to the University facilities located at 680-688 Sherbrooke West Street on the Montreal Downtown Campus. The scope of the project includes redevelopment of part of the building ground floor to house the Customer Service Department of the School of Continuing Studies. The new design will transform the lobby into a focal point for students to meet, move around and spend time in a welcoming environment. In addition, some sections of the immediate levels of the ground floor (mezzanine on the ground floor and lower underground gallery) will also be fitted out to offer a complete spatial experience. TIMELINE: Due to funding constraints and the need to make a budget compression the Quebec government has put this project on hold for an undetermined period. Future and timelines of eventual project development are unknown. Project will be followed if/when it proceeds to tender. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
