Millard Public Schools (MPS) is requesting proposals from contractors for the Elevator Modernization of
the existing Elevator (#2) at MPS South High School - 14905 Q Street Omaha NE 68137. The project
scope includes the following:
Elevator Equipment and Accessories
New microprocessor controller to connect to existing building fire alarm system.
New Power Unit.
New Door Operator.
New Infra-red Door Protection Device.
New Traveling cables and Hoistway wiring (along with spares).
New Car Operating Panel.
New Hall stations at each landing.
New Hall buttons at each landing.
New Cab Interior to include code complaint handrail.
Machine Room
Bring elevator machine room door to code.
Install machine room signage and extinguisher(s) as required.
Provide all required patching in the machine room.
Block off the existing vents.
Install a 1-ton cooling only ductless split system for machine room HVAC. (Condenser to be placed in the
mechanical room on the 2nd floor.)
Install car light circuit with lockable disconnect.
Install feeder from the load side of the car light disconnect to the controller.
Install piping for main feeder from the main disconnect to the new controller.
Install positive earth ground to the main controller.
Provide code compliant lighting.
Install machine room GFI.
Install piping for the phone line to the new controller
Remove all non-elevator related electrical from the machine room.
Demark location and services charges (by others).
Elevator Pitt
Provide new, guarded lighting with switch(s).
Provide GFCI receptacle(s).
Install a dedicated sump outlet.
Install a code compliant sump, including all discharge piping.
Hoistway
General patching of hoist way walls, ceiling and new penetrations.
Smoke Detection and Recall System
Provide smoke detection at elevator lobbies and machine spaces.
Relays as needed for fire recall.
