A general and not necessarily complete or exact description of the work is as follows: The Work includes, the supply and delivery of liquid chlorine gas in a 68 kilogram cylinder and a 907.2 kilogram cylinder, including all associated labour and equipment, on an as needed basis to various locations within York Region. Part A: Supply and delivery of liquid chlorine gas delivered in 68 kilogram cylinder, including all labour and equipment costs necessary to supply and delivery of the material. Part B: Supply and delivery of liquid chlorine gas in 907.2 kilogram cylinder, including all labour and equipment costs necessary for supply and delivery of the Material. Chlorine is added to the public drinking water supplies as a highly efficient disinfectant to kill disease causing bacteria that water or its transport pipes might contain. Chlorine addition are regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002, Ontario Regulation 170/03 and form part of York Region's Drinking Water Permits. Liquid chlorine gas supplies under this contract should meet applicable standards set out by both the American water Works Association (AWWA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) safety criteria standards NSF/60. The term of the Contract shall be for five (5) years, commencing on April 1, 2022 and ending on March 31, 2027. Documents can be obtained at: https://york.bidsandtenders.ca
