This work shall consist of multiple bid sections: The base bid shall consist of furnishing and installing four (4) additional 40' x 4' finger docks to match the existing docks. Additional flotation shall be added to the three (3) existing docks. To support the added roof one (1) 12" pile shall be added at the end of the four (4) proposed finger docks and the three (3) existing finger docks. The work shall also include the construction of a steel framed roofing system to the size and specifications shown on plans. Alternative bid 1 shall consist of relocating the 65' x 35' "Party Dock" with the accompanying three piles to the new location shown on these plans. As part of this relocation the contractor shall remove dock railing panels and relocate them to accommodate the new openings. In the area where the floating dock was removed the contractor shall furnish and install railing to address gap created by the "Party Dock" removal. In addition, the contractor shall furnish and install four (4) 20' x 3' finger docks as well as connect the existing fuel dock to the existing dock directly south and directly north of the dock as show on plans. Upon the new dock the contractor shall construct a wood frame ship store to the size and at the location shown on plans. This store shall have water, sewer, and electrical supplied. All finishes colors hardware etc. shall be coordinated with owner. See sheets 6 and 7 for further notes. Alternative bid 2 shall consist of installing four (4) 40'x4' finger docks to match the existing docks approximately 250' north of the base bid. Additional flotation shall be added to the four (4) existing docks. One (1) 12" pile shall be added at the end of the four (4) proposed finger docks and the four (4) existing finger docks. The work shall also include the construction of a steel framed roofing system to the size and specifications shown on the plans. Alternative bid 3 shall consist of driving one (1) 12" pile at the dock system located approximately 1,600' north of the base bid Alternative bid 4 shall include removing electrical cabinet and decking in order to install steel reinforcement underneath cabinet area and then replacing decking and cabinet in addition, railing shall be added behind the cabinet approximately 8 total feet of railing. Public Hearing on Proposed Contract Documents and Estimated Costs for Improvement Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City of Clinton, Iowa on the proposed Contract Documents (plans, specifications, and form of contract) and estimated total cost for the "Clinton Marina Improvements Project" at the City Council meeting at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th day of December, 2021, in said City Council Chambers, 611 South 3rd Street, Clinton, Iowa. Commencement and Completion of Work The above work shall be commenced as soon as possible after the contract and bond have been approved by the City Attorney and have been signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The substantial completion date for this project shall be May 31, 2022. Final completion and all punch-list items shall be completed by June 30, 2022. Liquidated damages shall be per Special Conditions.
