Sealed bids will be received for Window, Door, and Roof Replacements at Highlands School, Fieldcrest School, Nob Hill School, Mae Jemison School, and School District 144 District Office & Annex in the following bid categories: Bid Package #1 - Carpentry and General Construction, Bid Package #2 - Windows, and Bid Package #3 - Roofing and Sheet Metal. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided. All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond in a form acceptable to the school board, cashiers check. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the Owner for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS All employees of the Contractor or Subcontractor(s) on construction work for this Project shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on similar construction in the locality as determined by the Department of Labor in accordance with the applicable provisions of the "Wages of Employees on Public Works Act" (Prevailing Wage Act, Illinois Rev. Stat., 820 ILCS 130/1 et. seq.) and with all applicable provisions of the "Illinois Preference Act", 30 ILCS 570/.01 et. seq. The successful Bidder of the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, with sureties to be approved by the Architect, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract: and also that the successful Bidder, now the Contractor, shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and material furnished for himself and all of his subcontractors.
