Sealed bids will be accepted by Los Angeles County Public Works, Project Management Division III, for the construction of five injection wells and two observation wells and the performance of other appurtenant work under Project ID No. FCC0001353, Alamitos Barrier Project Unit 15 Replacement Wells, in the Cities of Long Beach and Seal Beach. Pursuant to State Public Contract Code section 3400, the Board of Supervisors made a finding that the stormwater flow meter and related components identified in the Special Provisions are designated by specific brand names to match other products in use on a particular public improvement either completed or in the course of completion. The work shall be done in accordance with the Plans and Specifications on file and open for inspection at Public Works. The work is estimated to cost between $5,500,000 and $8,250,000 and shall be completed in 165 working days. The prime contractor shall possess a valid California Class A or C57 contractor license. Prebid questions regarding the Plans and Specifications shall be submitted via email only to: Ms. Chandra McLoud at cmcloud@pw.lacounty.gov. Prebid questions will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021. From there, participants will follow the Agency's representatives to the project site. All participants must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including a cloth face covering at all times while at the project site. Each bid must be accompanied by a surety bond payable to County of Los Angeles in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the bid to guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract if it is so awarded.
