Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Alabaster, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a 84,000-square-foot fitness / recreation center; 18,500-square-foot library; and 60,000-square-foot swimming pool.
The Project consists of the construction of a new two-story Recreation Center (+-84,000 SF); detached pool equipment building (+-4,000 SF); associated aquatics area with leisure pool and splash pad (+-56,000 SF); and adjacent Library building (+-18,500 SF). The new Rec Center will include staff offices; gymnasium/indoor court space; exercise areas; concessions and warming kitchen areas; and multi-purpose flex space. The library will include offices, dedicated-use areas, typical reading and stack space; and an exterior children's garden. The construction will be generally Type II-B with Assembly and Business occupancy types. Sitework scope includes grading, paving, landscape/hardscape, and underground utilities. The southeast corner of the project site will be reserved for future development by others but will be provided with stubbed utilities.
