Lost River State Park - Fire Tower Renovations Fire Tower Cabin: Fire Tower cabin beside tower has been recently renovated. This cabin must not be disturbed in any manner. Cabin will not be available for use during tower renovations. The cabin must be protected from any damage or over spray that may occur. 2.2 Existing tower concrete pier footings: Exposed concrete to be sealed with concrete sealer, H&C Infusion water base sealer or equal. 2.3 New concrete base for step landing: Pour a four-foot by four-foot (4'x4') concrete landing, eight inches (8") thick. Concrete to be 3000 PSI and wire mesh reinforced. Apply concrete sealer as recommended. H&C Infusion water base sealer or equal. 2.4 Steel framing and metal building: 2.4.1 All metal framing and building components, including interior and roof of building, must be wire brushed and cleaned prior to priming. 2.4.2 All surfaces must have 100% coverage on primer and paint. 2.4.3 All surfaces to be primed one (1) coat with Sherwin Williams - Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl Universal Acrylic Primer or equal. 2.4.4 All surfaces to be painted one (1) coat with Sherwin Williams - Pro Industrial DTM Acrylic or equal. Paint to be tinted a gray color approved by Agency. 2.4.5 All surfaces must be primed and painted before new pressure treated lumber is installed on tower. 2.4.6 Reset stair risers and handrail for lower flight of steps. Stair risers and handrail are onsite. Contractor will need to provide four (4) galvanized angle iron uprights for handrail that are missing. Uprights to be the same dimensions as existing ones. 2.5.1 All lumber must be pressure treated. 2.5.2 All lumber must be installed after metal has been repainted. 2.5.3 All lumber must be installed in the same configuration as existing. 2.5.4 All lumber to be fastened with 3/8'' galvanized carriage bolts. 2.5.5 Trap door of the building floor shall be on hinges with a hasp provided that will be lockable with a padlock from the last flight of steps. 2.6 Lookout building windows: 2.6.1 All window hinges and locks must be operational. 2.6.2 Must replace all broken windowpanes with same material as existing. Approximately 16 pieces. Must field measure for size and count accuracy. 2.6.3 Vendor must remove old glazing and install new on all windows. 2.6.4 Metal window frames must be primed and painted the same as the steel structure. 2.7 Extra bracket hanging on side, close to the top: 2.7.1 Remove and discard complete bracket system.
