Renovation of a municipal facility in Saanichton, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The scope of work generally includes: .1 Mechanical work (By Contractor) .1 Dust Collector (Pre-Purchased) .2 Gas-fired Make-Up Air Unit (Pre-Purchased) .3 Ductwork .4 Natural gas piping .5 Air systems balancing .6 Verification of systems operation and controls Demolition and General Trades (By Contractor) .1 Removal and disposal of redundant equipment and ductwork. .2 New concrete housekeeping pads. .3 Painting of gas piping. .4 Disconnection and relocation of woodshop equipment into new locations shown on drawings. Cut new openings in floor for installation of ductwork. .5 Other demolition, painting, remediation, etc. as described in the Specifications and on the drawings, to accommodate the Work. Demolition and General Trades (By Owner; Contractor to Coordinate) .1 Patching of existing openings in floor. .2 Cut and frame new opening in floor for blowback damper access. .3 Demolition of interior storage room, relocation of fixed shelving units, installation of new stairs to mezzanine. .4 Painting of shop floor and safety clearances. Electrical work (By Contractor) .1 Line voltage connection to the dust collector main control panel. .2 Line voltage connection from the dust collector main control panel to the dust collector fan and shaker motor. .3 Bonding wiring to maintain all exposed metallic items in the shop at the same electrical potential. .4 Safety interlocks between dust collector control panel and powered shop equipment. .5 Safety interlocks between shop main breaker panel and power outlets not associated with the dust collector operation. .6 Line voltage connection to the outdoor make-up air unit. .7 Relocation and addition of circuits to feed shop equipment. .8 Supply, installation, and wiring of carbon monoxide detector to fire alarm system. .9 Interconnection to fire alarm if required by Electrical contract documents. Hazardous Materials Work (By Owner; Contractor to Coordinate) .1 The cost of hazardous materials abatement will be covered by the Owner. .2 The Contractor will meet with the Owner and Consultant to identify areas where existing building surfaces will be disturbed. .3 Based on such information the Owner will engage an independent Hazardous Materials Abatement Contractor to prepare openings, etc in advance of the Contractor commencing work.
