Renovation of a fire / police facility in Milledgeville, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The Invitation For Bid is intended to provide interested vendors with sufficient information to guide them through the development of their proposed bid for roof repair to the Milledgeville Fire Rescue #1, 201 West Thomas Street, Milledgeville, Ga Local vendor preference was adopted February 22, 2011. The City reserves the right to reject any and bids, to waive informalities and to award in the best interest of the City. 1. Obtain permits as required. 2. Coordinate with Fire Chief to minimize disruption to normal daytime activities, understand the apparatus (Engine & Ladder) bays cannot be blocked. 3. All work practices shall meet and/or exceed OSHA safety regulations. 4. Protect the grounds and surrounding area from damage during work. 5. Remove existing shingle roof and dispose of all debris. 6. There are currently four (4) low profile attics vents and one (1) low profile power ventilation that will be eliminated. Install self- venting roof vents in place of existing vents. (The new ridge condition is self-venting therefore the low profile attic vents are not required). 7. Install two (2) new gas flue vent pipes works needs to be coordinated with the HVAC contractor. Eliminate the gas flue vent next to the lower engine room next to the short antenna. 8. Replace approximately 40 lineal feet of deteriorating l"xlO" fascia. Afterwards replace caulk, prime and new paint to fascia, paint to be provided by owner. Replace any additional deteriorating wood and roof decking as needed. 9. Install high temperature rated synthetic underlayment over entire roof surface. 10.Custom fabricate and install new 1 1/2 " standing seam metal roof system using 24 gauge Kynar finished steel. Panels may be fabricated on-site using roll forming equipment. The Fire Department shall have choice of colors from the standard color category. 11.Flash electric weather heads and plumbing pipe vents using commercial grade EPDM flashings. 12.Custom fabricate and install new in-wall counter flashing where metal roof meets the vehicle bay brick wall. Flashing will be cut into the brick mortar joints and sealed as required. 13.Remove and dispose of all debris generated by our scope of work. 14.Includes five (5) year workmanship warranty against roof leaks from contractor and metal manufacturer's thirty-five (35) year metal warranty. 15.Roof overhang needs to be 2" to accommodate gutters. 16.Contractors will be required to measure the work site.
