Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Vernon, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a five-story above grade, 100-bed educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to invite interested parties to submit Responses indicating their interest in, and qualifications for, the Project. Based on these Responses, Okanagan College, in accordance with the terms of this RFQ, intends to select a shortlist of up to three Proponents to be invited to participate in the next stage of the Competitive Selection Process, the request for proposals stage. The Project scope is anticipated to be up to five-storey, 100-Bed Facility to be constructed using mass timber and to meet BC Energy Step Code Step 4 performance targets. The new Facility will include interior and exterior student support and amenity spaces. In keeping with the College's commitment to enhancing the participation of Aboriginal learners, the Facility aspires to integrate Indigenous-centric design principles. It is expected that the Design-Build Agreement will be in the range of $17.5 Million Dollars. The College will develop affordability parameters which will be included in the RFP. The Facility will be constructed immediately south of the Trades Building, and directly west of College Way, in the southeast corner of the OC Vernon Campus.
