Renovation of a mixed-use development in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Irvine, sealed bids from prequalified General Contractors for a Lump-Sum Contract are invited for the following project: ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $3,100,000 LICENSE CLASS REQUIRED: B, General Building and C20, Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and AirConditioning PROJECT DURATION: Three Hundred and Sixty-Five (365) Calendar Days GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall: Replace fourteen (14) HVAC units consisting of air handling units, fan coil units and transfer fans on six floors within Langson Library Replacement air handling units shall be dual-duct, constant volume units to match existing - New air handling units to be provided with variable frequency drives to allow for future conversion to a variable air volume system - HVAC units to be reconnected to existing ductwork Provide plumbing and electrical utilities for the replacement HVAC units and provide anchorage and support Work will be executed in 3 phases, with each phase of work consisting of 2 floors at a time. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: The successful Contractor will be required to have the following California contractors license active at the time of submission of the Bid: B, GENERAL BUILDING and C20, WARM-AIR HEATING, VENTILATING AND AIR-CONDITIONING PROCEDURES: Bidding documents will be issued electronically on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. The successful Contractor and its Subcontractors shall be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at location of work. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid for this project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
