The City of San Diego, Public Utilities Department (PUD) is seeking a qualified Contractor to provide as needed trenchless reconstruction services of the existing sewer service laterals and gravity sewer mains, by forming a new pipe within an existing deteriorated pipe. Reconstruction shall be accomplished by the installation of a resin impregnated flexible tube, by means of inverting or pulling into the existing service lateral or sewer main utilizing a pressure apparatus positioned through a cleanout, basement drain, manhole or similar access point. The inversion installation process shall conform to ASTM F1216 and pull-in-place process shall conform to ASTM F1743. Curing shall be accomplished by means of a suitable heat source, which will cure the resin-impregnated fabric tube into a hard, impermeable cured-in-place pipe (CIPP). No The Bond shall remain in full force and effect at least until complete performance of this Contract and payment of all claims for materials and labor, at which time it will convert to a ten percent (10%) warranty bond, which shall remain in place until the end of the warranty periods set forth in this Contract. The Bond shall be renewed annually, at least sixty (60) days in advance of its expiration, and Contractor shall provide timely proof of annual renewal to City. Contractor shall be required to furnish the City of San Diego with a surety bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of California, and approved by the City of San Diego, in a sum equal to one-hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, conditional for the performance of the Contract.
