The project involves sod installation services for approximately 1,500,000 sq. ft. of Paspalum notatum - Argentine Bahia grass along the west levee of the C23/24 Canal from HWY 68 to HWY 70 and from the east and north sides from G78 to SW Allapattah Road All bids must conform to the instructions in the RFB Further information on the status of this solicitation can be obtained electronically Work consists of the supply, delivery, installation, and maintenance of approximately 1,500,000 sq. ft. of sod along the levee of the C23/24 Canal from HWY 68 to HWY 70 and from G78 to SW Allapattah Road on an approximate slope of 3:1. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials necessary to establish a stand of grass within the specified area by furnishing and installing sod, and watering and maintaining the sodded area to ensure a healthy and satisfactory stand of grass for the specified amount of time required under this Statement of Work. Sod shall be installed in applications of approximately 250,000 sq. ft. as directed by the District Project Manager. Work shall be performed in remote areas and under extreme conditions, including, but not limited to, high temperatures and humidity; and exposure or in proximity to stinging/biting insects, snakes, alligators, etc. The Contractor shall at no time hunt, fish, approach, attack, harm, harass, handle, or remove any animal or plant species from District lands. The District may decide not to sod any or all the project area dependent upon weather conditions, ROW conditions, budgetary constraints, and other factors that would identify this strategy as being in the best interest of the District.
