Alberta Central East Water Corporation (ACE) wishes to obtain proposals from qualified Proponents for the construction of a water transmission line between the Village of Myrnam (Myrnam) and Hamlet of Derwent as part of Phase 7 of ACE's regional water supply system. Contract 21 will involve constructing approximately 20.1 km of 100 mm diameter water transmission main between Myrnam and Derwent. The majority of the proposed alignment is within the Highway 45 right-of-way. ACE is obtaining permission from Alberta Transportation for placement of the line within the highway right-ofway. ACE is also considering an alternate option of installing the waterline within an abandoned railbed between Myrnam and Derwent. Major work items for this contract will include the following (approximation): a)Contract 21 involves the supply and installation of 20.1 km of 100 mm HDPE DR11 pipe via. horizontal directional drilling (HDD) between Myrnam and Derwent. b)Excavation, backfill, reclamation, and seeding of HDD entrance and exit pits. c)Installation of air release valves, flushing hydrants, isolation valves, and cathodic protection. d)Installation of private service connections if requested. e)Pig launching and receiving stations. f)Highway and utility crossings. g)Tie-in at the Derwent Pumphouse including all piping, valves, controls, wiring, and associated work. h)Contract 21 involves the tie-in to the existing ACE water main outside of Myrnam.
